Saying goodbye to this blog and movin on to a new one!

Ok..so I'm leavin...leavin this blog behind and moving on to start fresh, for many diff reasons...
In a way I almost feel sad leaving, this site has been so much to me since March 9, 2007 when I first began bloggin my heart out to Soph while I waited, and waited and waited for her....but our wait is over! And our life has moved on....
SO...here's where I'm going to: one son + one daughter

I'd love it if you all continued on with me, into our little journey called life! And this time around there's no waiting; just living!
Thanks to all who follow me, who pray with me and care for me and mine ;)

Could she BE any more me?

ok..so I'm totally DETERMINED to fix my blog(soon)AND learn some new cool ways of displayin my photos like fancy shmancy blogs do...so here's a test with some delightful pics of my girl doin her makeup ENLARGED....not perfect yet, but I cant believe I actually enlarged it ON MY OWN..lol
So...having posted this..pls note that yes, those are dirty clothes on the floor of my bathroom...cause that's just real and how it looks most days...AND..my girl, did this ON HER OWN...I was downstairs when I realized it was quiet and she was gone...so I tip toe up to my room..and low and behold, there she is..in my bathroom, in my makeup case..and notice how shes not just playin..but quite accurately putting my makeup on...blush on cheeks...small eye sponge on her eyes....OMG...she really is a mini me..and i couldnt be HAPPIER!

February 4th 2003...one of THE BEST days of my life....

Our Charlie boy is 8! Eight years ago, he made me a mommy for the very first time...made all my dreams come true, dreams that I had been dreamin since I was 4 and pretended my barbies were mommies!..lol ;)
I will never find the perfect words to completly wrap up my thoughts on you Charlie...as I'm sure most all other mama's would agree, the love you feel for your child, and your first born at that, is a love that is special and perfect like no other...
8 years ago..I remember it like it was only 8mon's ago, not years...you have made daddy and I so happy and complete! You win the hearts of others everywhere you go, with your sweet demeaner, big brown eyes, your happy, happy soul(words from your 2nd grade teacher),your love for the Lord and your faith at such a young age, your funny sense of humor(totally your daddy),you are chatty, funny personality, smart, bright, hard working, playstation lover, baseball player, future race car driver, animal lover, generous giver, BEST BIG BROTHER EVER, kind compassionate..I could go on and on...
I know some of this may come and go as you grow...Ive noticed with this new age of 8, and as youve approached it the last couple months, you really are branching off and learning to be independant of me and daddy, (mostly me), and that's ok. I know you need to do this, to grow up...(ugh..anyone else out there hate this as much as me..that they grow and leave you...:(

But you, Charlie boy, truly are one of the biggest stars in my eyes! I am in awe of you all the time and so, so, very proud of who you are growing up to be...
I love you to the moon, and the stars, and the sun..and back and back and back....pieces and parts..parts and pieces...you will ALWAYS be my favorite boy!

Gong Xi Fa Cai...Happy Chinese New Year kick off today...Mandrian orange tree craft for the New Year!

So Ive been teaching my little kiddos all bout Chinese New Year for the past week or so...we've talked so much a/b it, that one of my sweet little 2 yr olds that comes here is convinced he was born in China(totally wasnt)and tells me and his mom that yes he WAS born in and came from China..lol;0
So anyway..cute little project w/did...mandrian orange trees...I let them use their finger tips to dip in orange ink pads and then they made org's on the trees...
We did Org trees, cause in China..oranges are a very imp part of Chinese New Year dinner...oranges=prosperity according to them..
Some other fun facts bout Chinese New Year that Ive learned:
-it lasts 15 days long, no fixed date, it's celebrated according to the luna calendar
-falls in Jan or Feb each year
-originates from back in 2600 BC
-this year is year of the rabbit
-Before the kick off day, they believe in "spring cleaning" and sweeping out their homes, but not ON the day of new year, or they think you'll sweep out all your good luck that year
-They gather for a reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year, this is most imp dinner of all
-On the 1st day of New Year, all debts must be paid, also no lending on this day
-No curse words on this day
-also, it is said that children get away with whatever they want, cause parents dont want to say no and upset them, it would mean bad luck if they disciplined and the child cried(boy would I have an issue with this one..lol)
-the day is started with eating a sweet treat called "tong sui"
-Gong Xi Fa Cai means congratulations and riches
-new clothes are bought(looove this one)
-Hair is cut
-the giving of red envelopes with $
-Card games are big(my family would love this one too)
-and lastly, a must have at dinner are cookies and mandrian oranges!
So, that's it..I'm sure theres lots more to know and learn..but for now, S's 2, and this is good!
We are super excited to go celebrate the New Year with our good friends at thier first annual Chinese New Year party this weekend!

Pj's backward/inside out, ice cubes down the toliet='s TWO snow days in a row!

Day 2 of snow day home with C...Not sure if anyone else out there has heard of this, I surely hadnt, but apparently, according to all the 2nd graders in town, if you wear your jammies inside out and backwards...flush ice cubes down the potty, and sleep with a fork and spoon under your pillow(which I quickly vetoed), your school will be called off the next day...anyone else hear this? So far, for 3 days this year, this has worked for him...:) But since all of our state has decided we only get 3 calamity days per yr...he has now decided he will be wearing his jammies tonight correctly, cause he doesnt want any time taken off his summer break ;)
As you can see, we here didnt get snow so much, just lots, and lots of ice!
Not having left the house in two days, I decided to venture out this afternoon, only to be stopped in my tracks by my van literally being frozen...after 40min's of scrapping while the heater was on full force, and the van moved into the garage, and it STILL barely coming off, I gave up, and came back in.....you know you are stir crazy when your bummed out that you couldnt go out to return library videos...lol!
Happy Winter All xo

"Ss" is for sponge painting sunflowers...star wars dress up too ;)

Sponge painting with my little ones was funny cause they didnt know what to do at first with them...but they caught on quickly as you can see! And dressing up is a daily adventure in our house...even for C when he's home from school! Did you ck out Soph in her power ranger/starwars mask?? LOL :) That's my girl...she may love shoes and makeup like her mama, but she can power punch, sword fight, and karate chop as good as her big brother!

First mommy/daughter mani/pedi!

So I have painted Soph's piggys before, like soon after we got home from China..lol,but this was the first time her and I set up a "spa day" here in my living room:) We soaked our piggys, cut, clipped and filed our nails, and then the polish...I couldnt believe how still she sat, and even when done she sat still w/me for 30min's to allow our final products to dry, while her and I watched, Say Yes to the Dress....lol! She is sooooooooo my daughter...literally a "mini-me"....God, you did good!

PS...continue to ignore my mess of a blog...I know it's not pretty...Ive got someone special plannin to work magic on it someday soon...so meanwhile, I did figure out how to change my title and post a pic...and for ME..that's big..I felt proud of myself;) I'm changing some stuff up..like out with the old title..cause we're not waitin on our Soph anymore...we're livin our life with her, praise God...so this is our Happy Ever After...and I'm thinkin that's what I'll call this now....well, as soon as GS can get to it;)
Happy Weekend to all!

Please ignore this mess of a blog!

K...as most know, I am totally PC illiterate....cant even believe I manage a blog..it's that bad...
Having said that, I decided today to try to become more "blog-literate" and dive on into blogger and designs and advanced posting..blah, blah, blah..and this is what I've ended up with....hazy blue back ground(no idea)...white haze over the polka-dots my friend originally added on my blog..and now our "click to view our china trip" title is lost down on the bottom and dont even look at the rt side bar..have NO idea what's goin on there....
So...Im praying Grandpa Scott can help a girl out some day soon....(lol, no pressure G.S)
Or......if anyone out there reading this, has ANY clue how to help me, PLZZZZZZ let me know, K?
Thx!

"Rr" is for rainbows and red race car painting!

Last weeks letter of the week R....

I do letter of the week with my lil crew that come here 3days a week...

Soph loves it, and they love it too...they each bring a share item from home that starts with that letter we are discussing, they get up and "share" it @ circle...we do circle time..then upstairs to my fav part of the day, art time! I know to most of you, cause most of you've told me before, think I'm nuts that I enjoy doing messy, crafty letter of the week driven projects with five under the age of five...but call me crazy, it's the BEST! I never stress on the final product they each make, but just the promise of each of them designing their own creative creations...and sometimes they do come out close to mine ;)

Our Pinewood Derby Champ!

Second Place!!!! Hooray to our Charlie boy! His very first Pinewood derby car race with the Boy Scouts and he(and daddy)came in 2nd place!

Charlie showed interest in joining Boy Scouts, or rather, it's called CubScouts, last month, so we thought sure why not, we'll go to a meeting and try it out, and boy was I overwhelmed..lol(in a good way of course)...I had noooooo idea how big or awesome this organization was....it was seriously, overwhelming...and of course, for his very first meeting, he had to have me and his lil sister, who was completely bored out of her mind, at this den meeting....(Poor Jeff was stuck at home finishing the grout on our newly ceramic bathroom floors~ yet another house project that we think is going to be so quick and easy and it's NOT...at least not quick..lol)So...that left me, clueless mom of a new cubscout taking this den meeting in....

Meanwhile, Sophia was behind me in this new church classroom we were meeting in, drawing all over the white wall with a red dry erase marker....yes, proud moment for me...and as I turn around to discover her impressive red circles on the walls and see now why she was so quiet... I gasp at her newly found love for dry erase markers....and come face to face with a few other den mom's who quietly glare at me....I guess they are those perfect mom's with perfect toddlers who never exhibit a calling for drawing art on walls...lol:)
So, anywho....C left that meeing all smiles and glowin...and very proud to have just joined Den 1, Pack 466 of the Cubscouts...and his biggest smile was b/c they announced he had just joined in time for the annual Pinewood Derby races....and let me tell you, this boy came out of me obsessed with cars and races..lol...so I knew this would be right up his, and Jeff's ally!!!!
So he and Jeff only had 2wks to go buy, design, carve, decorate and name his race car...which ended up being; The Indy Speedster! The 2nd place winner over many, he was one proud boy with one proud daddy, and a mommy, sister and grandy too!
Our Charlie boy is growing up way too fast...when he put his cubscout uniform on, it was all I could do to not cry....my little baby boy, these last few months of age 7 have really started to change him and "grow him up"....I see such a difference in him lately, so independant and smart, funny and grown up...proud and responsible...it's almost as if I am getting a small glimpse of who he will one day be...but Lord, PLEASE, PLEASE, let that one day come a little slower...K?!
