Taste of Summer a bit early!

This near 90 degree weather every day this past week has surely made us summer ready! Sprinklers out..pools out...swim suits getting warn...we are ready! Now only seven more days till schools out for summer, then it's offical at our house :)

Race for the Cure 2010

This is from a few wks back, but I did the Race for the Cure here with my dear friend Jen, in dedication to her wonderful mom, Susan.

Susan lost the battle to cancer just a couple short yrs back...she actually passed away only 3 weeks after my grandma Ruth passed away in January 2008.

Her mom was very young,only in her 50's, and a beautiful, fun loving, sweet woman, and awesome gramma to Jen's children. She teased me shortly before she died that she approved of the name "Sophia" for our baby to be, but didnt like "sophie" b/c it reminded her of a sofa!LOL! I think that's why her and I got along so well, she was a lot like me in that she'd tell ya exactly what she thought!!!

Watching her fight so hard and then watching the Lord chose to take her, was one of the hardest, scariest, most profound things I've ever witnessed along side my friend Jen.

Jen, if you are reading this, not a day goes by that I do not pray for you and your dad and brother. You are such an amazing, strong, beautiful, wonderful daughter, mother, wife, and friend. I love ya to death and am always here for you and your family! xoxoxox

Charlie's first book report and speech and my noodle slurpin girl!

Charlie did his very first book report and then had to give a speech a/b the ocean animal he studied...he did it on a sea anemone fish. He did such a great job..I couldn't believe he even did all the research, wrote a book a/b it, full w/a table of contents, and then gave a speech on it....as always, I teared up....how is it possible my baby is growing up so fast and getting smarter than me already..LOL!
And, the one definet food our Sophie Su will eat when all else fails..NOODLES...esp Ramen Noodles! I guess she'll be ready to survive college one day :)

Poppie, Daddy and Charlie's weekend project!

As with any project around here...what started as a "small" increase in the size of our cute little tree house out back, turned into an addition added on to it and with a full blown roof!!! LOL..that's my family for ya...(at least my dad..bigger is better...hahah)
It took Poppie and daddy ALL day literally, but they got it done!
And Charlie could not be happier or prouder!
Sophie is loving it too!
Thanks Poppie and Daddy for always going above and beyond for us :)

Two of these ladies w/their lovely babies I know well, and the other two I've recently just met! Together we've gathered a few times to play! And I'm so excited for Sophie Su to have so many other precious girls that share her same story to grow with, right here in our own town :)
