This is the third year we have joined a local neighborhood pool just b/c it gets so darn hot here!
I never would have imagined belonging to a community pool....I know I'm gonna come off sounding snotty here..BUT...I grew up always having a pool...NEVER went to a community pool..or had to share space in a pool(besides w/my 3 brothers or friends)...never had to leave a pool b/c some idiot didnt put a swim diaper on their kid and poop is floating in the pool....never grew up getting Cyrpto***** virus b/c of poop in a pool.....so I grew up detesting community pools...AND I HATE crowds....(can you believe I went to Ch*na..LOL) so anyway...I never would have dreamed of belonging to one of these...but here we are..at the community pool..our home away from home most evenings....and I am a member..and I'll have to say, although the pool is older than most of the fancier suburban pools around here..and does not have as many "bells and whistles" as the others...it is clean..not crowded on evenings we go...and I've yet to be asked to exit the pool b/c of floating poop!
And watching Charlie become an avid swimmer at this pool has been so fun to see....The first year he wore a life jacket ALL the time...the second year he lost the jacket..but was very fearful of water over his head and went no where near the big blue slide...and now this year...no jacket...jumping in the deep end(cannon ball style)AND has mastered the big blue slide! :)
And as you can see, Ms Sophie Su is lovin the community pool too...and has NO FEAR!I have a feeling she'll be tackling the big blue slide a lot earlier than her big brother did..LOL!
