How did I ever get so lucky with him?

Tis the season to count our blessings...and our Charlie boy is sure at the top of our list....

He is such an amazing little guy, I often find myself in awe of him and who he is becoming...

The other week, he left this letter, sealed shut in an envelope on the kitchen counter and asked me to mail it to Santa for him....I agreed..and when he went off to bed, opened it up, eager to see what more he was asking for...
And this above is what I found...

I literally was moved to tears as I stood in my kitchen reading this sweet, heartfelt letter to Santa, from my very own 7 yr old son...
This letter was so endearing, so moving, and so clear that he is growing up fast and truly, truly, "getting it"...

Getting that this season is not a/b getting and endless list's of wants...
But as he stated.." thankyou for giving toys to everyone in the whole wide world b/c the meaning of Christmas is giving, and Jesus's birthday"

He also tells Santa that, "you are the bestest person in the world b/c you give to everyone in the whole wide world"

He went on to say that Santa didn't need to bring him anymore than one or two things off his list b/c he has tons of toys already and he didnt need anymore!

He signed his letter, "senserlie"(sincerely) C.R!

I often fret a/b my role as a mommy and what I do and say each day to my kids and if it's wrong or right, or "Christian-like" enough and I worry a/b raising them to be the best I can...and in that small moment in my kitchen, I felt overwhelmed and grateful and almost undeserving of such an amazing little boy...I know our Lord has way more to do with how he's turning out thus far than I..but I will take a tiny bit of credit for some of him ;) And always be in awe of what I did to deserve him xo

November 26, 2010...Sophie Su's 2nd birthday!

Oh my sweet Sophie Su..how is it you are already two?? I am so feeling the lose of those first 7months now more for the first time, just b/c it now seems to have gone so fast....You are defintetly still our baby girl in so many ways..but you are becoming so verbal and following in Charlie's footsteps every sec of the day that I feel you are maturing so fast as well...
It was so special to be able to celebrate your birthday up north with some of mommies family, b/c that is something that normally would never happen since they live sooo far away..but with celebrating turkey day/and visiting Uncle Dougie's new home up there this year, it made it possible to be with all your cousins, and that was such a treat ;) You and your cousin Libby are only 6mo's apart..I am tickeled to death that the two of you can grow up as close as your big brother Charlie is with his cousins his age...I just can see the two of you will be partners in crime one day, probably sooner than later ;)
Part two of your bday celebration will be back home here this coming wkend with all our best friends and family that live here close to us!
So Happy, happy bithday my sweet angel...you are mommies gift from God above..the very sweet precious angel I prayed for and knew in my heart years and years ago....
I love you more than I could ever find words for....to the sun, and the stars and the moon and back!

Happy Thanksgiving 2010..up in WI!

Happy, happy thanksgiving..and what a happy one it was! For the first time ever, we drove wayyyy up north where my three brothers live and stayed with my baby brother in his brand new, very first, home!
Although I'm sure we drove him nuts, esp with all the crap you need to take when you have two in tow, which ended up in every corner of his brand new home....
We had, as Charlie quoted on the way home, "the very best Thanksgiving ever"!
Thanks to Uncle Dougie and our soon to be "Aunt" "Annie"(as Soph insists on calling her)
We love you both so very much and thank God for you in our lives xoxoxoxo

Seasame Street Live 2010!

We had so much fun this past wkend when Seasame Street visited our town! I wasnt sure how Sophie would do, but she did great! And believe it or not, Charlie really liked it too! I had vivid flashbacks from my childhood when my parents took me and my 3 brothers, and it was funny b/c as a child, I distinctly remember being terrified when Big Bird came down into the audience...so terrified that my dad had to take me and one of my brothers, Corey, out of the auditorium screaming in fright :0) lol! And some things never change, b/c Big Bird still walks down into the crowd..only this time, I didnt scream in fright, I only laughed at my funny childhood memory....and we were up high enough, so Soph had no time for fear!
The second pic down of her pouting was her reaction when "melmo" went away and the show was over! She loved it that much!
