First time visitor at our house!

Finally after a couple months worth of wiggling, C's tooth popped out! On July 21st, 7pm, as he was reading S a story before bed!
He was so anticipating that visit from the tooth fairy b/c he wrote her/him a letter requesting that they leave him his very first tooth so he could keep it....he was so worried as to what the fairy would think that he awoke at 3:30am to check and see his surprise! Not only did the fairy leave him his very first baby tooth, but a tiny wrapped up surprise to go w/it! :)

My Charlie Boy!

This blog was originated to keep family and friends up to date on our journey to get our Sophie girl, and then of course for everyone to follow us over to Ch*na for the amazing "birth" of her into our family..and now..as much as I go back and forth on shutting it down, I'll keep updating until I feel bored w/it...but anyway, having said all that, Sophie Su is our angel here on earth,and I love to update you on her week to week and all, BUT..I never want to diminish the fact that our Charlie boy is such a slice of heaven to us too, and brag on him a bit!

One thing I think he has handled so well, is all the constant attention Soph generates anywhere we go....you name it...the bank, the grocery, the gas station..people flock to her and ooohh and ahhh over her, while Charlie stands in the background, most of the time ignored by passer bys that comment on how adorable Sophie is....and honestly, as much as I thought it would bother him, so far, he has only made one comment a/b it....he has handled her transitioning into his life and our family way better than I ever could have imagined! Seeing the two of them together, and how sweet he is to his baby sister makes me tear up at least once a week or so :) (not saying she doesnt drive him nutty from time to time..lol) But it's really been amazing to watch their relationship as sister and brother develop!
I don't know what I ever did to deserve my Charlie boy....he is amazing and makes me prouder than I have ever been of anything in my life!

At 7 yrs old, he's all a/b....anything most boys are....go carts, fast cars..video games..baseball...bike racing...baseball card collecting...bakugan thingings..vbs lover...frog catcher....artist....I could go on and on....

Charlie..one day you will read this...probably in lieu of your homemade scrapbooks b/c I am so darn behind on them..but I want you to know as much as we love your sister just as much as you, you are never in her shadows! You are mommies sunshine through and through and I love you!!!!! You rock!

Fun at a splash park w/our monthly Ch*na Playgroup!

One of the many things I love a/b where we live is the abundance of families that have adopted from Ch*na that are living right here w/us!
A few months back a play group formed w/all these families that have adopted babies born in 2006-2008! Each month we all gather together w/our families to enjoy one another, and this amazing connection we all have-our little Ch*na Angels! This month we gathered at a popular local splash park for some wet and wild fun...and boy did we need it...it was 94 degrees this day....(reminded me a bit of being in Ch*na last summer)
I wish I wouldve captured more pic's of all these darling children from Ch*na..but it was a bit crowded and chaotic and I was lucky to get a few of my own :)

At the end of last month, we headed home to my parents to see one of my brothers and his family! We had the best time on the new "slide" that Grandy purchased for the pool, and a very EXCITING FIRST for Charlie...he went off the diving board all by himself!!!! He was very proud!
We also had a blast downtown where Charlie, Easton and Cabella ran through the splash park! And as you can see, Grandy and Sophie had fun too!

As you can see, our little princess was NOT enjoying our photo shoot! She would have none of it! Yet, 10 min after we left to walk around T*rget to wait for the prints, she yells continually from the shopping cart: "CHEEZZZZZ" with a big sweet Sophie grin! :)...more photos to come!

Rogers Family 4th of July vacation 2010!

Thanks to Gramma Jean we had a wonderful vacation up in the mountains in Maryland for the
4th of July week! Jeff, and his two brothers and their families all came along for lots of fun in the sun!
